What was the highlight of 2023 for you?
Starting my role as CEO/Director at Museum of Brisbane has certainly been a highlight. It’s been a glorious whirlwind but I particularly enjoyed celebrating the Museum’s 20th anniversary in October and the launch of our beautiful new exhibition Rearranged: Art of the Flower.

If you could have done something differently last year, what would it be and why?
Read more books! Reading has always been my go-to for down time….but I’m often asleep before my head hits the pillow these days.

Who is someone to watch for in 2024?
Amongst our incredible line-up of local artists in 2024, I’m looking forward to seeing the work of Artists in Residence Louis Lim and Christine Ko for BrisAsia Festival and the unpoppable bubble of joy that is Hiromi Tango.

What is your most vivid memory of the festive holidays?
An early Christmas morning swim at Mooloolaba. I grew up by the beach and this remains a favourite quiet moment before a busy Christmas day.

Do you have any unique or funny holiday traditions?
Watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation every Christmas eve with the family. It still makes me howl with laughter.

What’s your New Year’s resolution for 2024?
Equal parts fun and relaxation.

If you could have anyone from any time period attend your Christmas lunch, who would you choose?
Oh that’s too tricky to answer! With friends spread across the country and world, I’d be happy to just have them all at the table with me, along with a few good bottles of wine.

Coastal holiday or city holiday?
A beach suits me any day.

What are you looking forward to in 2024?
Working with the amazing team at Museum of Brisbane to bring to life so many wonderful stories and ideas. We have an incredible line up of exhibitions and programs that are set to launch in 2024…..stay tuned! On a personal note, spending time with my four-year old daughter as she adventures through life.

Do you have a summer book or podcast you can recommend?
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. A captivating modern love story set against the backdrop of the Silicon Valley gaming world. It’s an extraordinary story of friendship, grief and creativity.
