Live music
On Thursday night, the 27 Club takes to the stage at The Princess Theatre to salute the fated members of ‘the 27 club’ like Joplin, Winehouse and Cobain. The live rockumentary features Australian rock icons Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus) and Kevin Mitchell (Jebediah, Bob Evans) with Carla Lippis (Mondo Psycho) and more – you can grab tickets here. Over in The Valley, Suzy Wong’s and Brooklyn Standard’s sibling Superfly Studios has transformed into a vibrant live-music mecca and will serve up a solid weekend of damn-good tunes – on Friday, powerhouse pop-funk outfit Sharon Brooks & Mamma Funk is dropping dance-worthy beats, then on Saturday night La Boum will serve up live pop, dance, rock and funk (with no cover charge!).

On Saturday night, revered music icon Don McLean will perform all 8-minutes and 42-seconds of ‘American Pie’ (along with a swag of other hits) at the Fortitude Music Hall. Though, if Taylor Swift is more your jam, treat yourself to five hours of DJs circling through her greatest hits (a Taylor Swift roulette, of sorts) at The Triffid. Free monthly outdoor music event The Sound Society is back at Roma Street Parklands this Sunday from 11:00 am – head down with your picnic rug for some smooth tunes from Welter and tuck into a finger-licking feast from BBQ Roadshow Low ‘n’ Slow at the Lakeside Lawn.

Foodie fun
Clayton Wells from Sydney’s highly acclaimed Automata and A1 Canteen is joining Stanley head chef, Louis Tikaram, for one-night collab on Thursday night – expect a mouth-watering, share-style banquet with the likes of Cloudy Bay clams, painted tropical crayfish, banana blossom king prawns and more. Yum! Last tickets are selling here.

Jump in your car (with an empty Esky) this Sunday and check out the Scenic Rim Farm Gate Trail – there are more than 25 different farmers, growers, producers, winemakers, brewers, distillers and flavour-makers to visit. Read all about the deliciousness over here and map out your trip!

Wine lovers, City Winery’s Rosé Festival is back to bring you all of the sips this Sunday. Held at Westoria in West End, the action-packed one-day festival will feature everything from grape stomping, winemaking, live music, food trucks, DJs and roving entertainment – all in celebration of wine in the pink-hued variety. Final tickets are available through City Winery.

Love yum cha? Wooloongabba’s Casa Chow is adding a spicy twist with its new Rum Cha lunches, served on Fridays and Saturdays. Mix up your weekend lunch and tuck into mud-crab and scallop dim sum and prawn har gau while sipping $15 rum daiquiris.

Don’t forget, you can always ease into the weekend a little early with woodfired pizzas, sips, views and tunes at Eats & Beats at Will & Flow. It kicks off at 4:30 pm every Thursday – just order a glass of AIX French rosé and for $19 you can enjoy any woodfired pizza on the menu (four cheese, please) while listening to live beats overlooking the Brisbane River.
