Emergency crews, ambulances racing towards scene of Warwick light plane crash

Emergency crews are responding to an aviation incident in southern Queensland.

The Queensland Ambulance Service received a call at 12.15pm that a light plane had crashed near Palgrave, southwest of Warwick.

Several ambulance crews are on the scene along with Queensland Police officers.

The Courier-Mail reported that the pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft, although their condition was not known.

Emergency services said four rescue crews were attending the scene and it is understood the plane caused a fire when it crashed.

They said the incident had occurred just after midday.

A RACQ LifeFlight helicopter has been tasked to the scene.
