Emergency services were called to Isabella Falls, southwest of Cairns, at about 3pm on Monday, where paramedics assessed a patient with critical injuries who had fallen from the waterfall, Queensland Ambulance Services said.

Police have described the death of the Manunda woman as non-suspicious and will prepare a report for the coroner.

Meanwhile, the search for a missing Queensland fisherman has been scaled back as the operation enters its fourth day in waters off Townsville.

There has been no sign of Colin Palmer, 41, or his vessel after he and a friend fell overboard in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The pair tried to stick together and make their way toward shore but were separated in dark, choppy conditions. The friend was later rescued.

Queensland police say the air and sea search will be scaled back on Tuesday.

Palmer’s friend was spotted by crew on a commercial fishing vessel and rescued about 6.30am on Saturday.

The 45-year-old man was suffering exposure and taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Police are urging anyone who has seen a white Quintrex coast runner about four metres long with Queensland registration RD806Q to contact them.
