Among the attractions is a sports bar with 12-metre screens which Star said would overlook the Brisbane River.

Luke Nguyen’s Fat Noodle would also be one of an expected 50 restaurants and bars that form part of the development and the hotel linked to the project, Star Grand, would start taking bookings later this year for its 340 five-star rooms.

Images released by Star also show an events centre with a capacity of 2000 which the company said was also attracting interest.

Star Brisbane chief operating office Kelvin Dodt said it was the first look for Brisbane at the project and its features.

He said the Star would transform the central business district when it opened next year.

Tourism and Events Queensland chief executive Patricia O’Callaghan said visitors to Brisbane would be spoiled for choice with the industry investments in accommodation in recent years.

“In a competitive global landscape these products help offer a new reason to come and visit, whether it be to indulge in our world class food and wine, see our iconic natural wonders or simply experience our unbeatable lifestyle.”

Chef Luke Nguyen said Brisbane was on the precipice of being the next foodie capital.

“There is undeniable buzz about the town at the moment and it’s great to be a part of it,” he said.
