The move will combine Go1’s existing offices in the US, South Africa, Vietnam, the UK and Malaysia with Coorpacademy’s base in France and Switzerland.
Coorpacademy has about 1 million users but Go1 has not revealed the cost of the acquisition.
The company attained the status of a unicorn (a start-up valuation of $1 billion) last July following a $200 million capital raising and the takeover of Coorpacademy would bring it closer to its goal of 1 billion users.
“As we continue to scale globally as a leader in the corporate education space, we plan to focus on expansion in the US and Europe but are looking forward to the opportunities of reaching and impacting new regions in the future,” Go1 chief executive and co-founder Andrew Barnes said.
“Coorpacademy is already well established in France and Switzerland and we are excited about this geographic expansion.
“This acquisition will enhance Go1’s existing roots in Europe and extend the e-learning content library in this region to support the growing demand for quality content.”
