Racecourse Road has undergone a bit of a resurgence this year. Victory Lane has reinvigorated the Racecourse Dining scene with its signature brand of elevated, but approachable, hospitality. Led by executive chef Jamie Hahn, the restaurant’s succinct but flavourful lunch and dinner menu features a mix of protein-packed and vegetarian offerings.

The fun starts with small plates and bar bites – think freshly shucked oysters, fetta panna cotta with tomato consommé, fennel, celery, cucumber, green chilli and toasted pistachio, and wagyu beef toasties with pain de mie bread, charred sugarloaf cabbage, seeded mustard and pickled wagyu beef tongue.

From there, guests can tuck into larger meals, including house-made gnocchi with champagne emulsion, spinach, pine nuts and parmesan tuile, wagyu tri-tip with a marble score of 6+ with potato gratin, spring vegetables and parmesan custard, and market fish with leek, asparagus, peas, bonito and yuzu gel, and persillade bordelaise.

Aside from the delicious roster of eats, Victory Lane hosts live music every Friday between 4:00–7:00 pm, so diners can soak up acoustic tunes from local musicians while they sip and snack. On Sundays from 12:00–3:00 pm, lovers of oysters can indulge in freshly shucked oysters for $4, washed down with a glass of Laurenti Grande Cuvee champagne for $15.

Sounds like the perfect Sunday session to us! Locals can also pop in for a tasty post-work tipple from 4:00–6:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for Victory Lane’s happy hour. Need a space for your next event?

Victory Lane also offers a private dining room that caters to 10 people seated and features a television, stereo system and private bathroom.
