Police said the Toowoomba men – aged 18 and 19 – broke into a Rockville home west of Brisbane in October and assaulted a 68-year-old man with a tomahawk, leaving him with serious injuries.

Then the 19-year-old on Monday threatened the driver of a vehicle in Harlaxton before striking him with the blunt end of a knife, police allege.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was able to drive away.

Just moments later the pair are accused of pulling up in a stolen car and threatening a man and a woman who were changing a tyre by the side of the road.

The couple were allegedly threatened with a meat cleaver, a knife and an axe before the two offenders fled.

The two men were arrested on Monday at separate addresses following the alleged incidents committed from October 18 to November 6.

The 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, attempted enter premises and commit indictable offence and enter dwelling with intent.

The 19-year-old man has been charged with nine offences, including attempted murder.

Both are expected to appear at Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
