Your Weather Channel has weather modelling showing intense rain hitting the north west, north and central Queensland in the next seven to 14 days.
It said the predictions were far from certain “but the main models are pointing to a possible extensive large rain event across large parts of Queensland and possibly all of eastern Australia”.
“If it does happen it will be the last week of June,” the forecasters said.
They claimed there developing weather event was clearly one to watch and would be another La Niña induced weather event.
It follows forecasts on Weatherzone that eastern Australian could experience a third year of La Niña weather.
The La Niña brings generally wetter weather to Australia’s east coast.
The Bureau of Meteorology’s longer range forecast is for rainfall to be above the median for much of Australia from July to September.
