Exec appointments: Knudsen to head APPEA

APPEA gets a new Queensland boss, the Queensland Theatre Company appoints Gehrke, Critical Minerals puts Drelincourt in charge and more in this week’s appointments.

Knudsen to head gas

Gas industry lobby group APPEA has appointed Keld Knudsen as its Queensland director.

Knudsen previously worked for the group as its Northern Territory director and in government relations. He has also worked for Santos in Queensland.

Andrews to front MSQ

Manufacturing Skills Queensland has appointed Rebecca Andrews as its chief executive.

Andrews has previously worked for the Australian Industry Group and as deputy director general (Small Business) at the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training.

Caruso turns up at M Resources

Former Metarock Group Limited chief executive Tony Caruso has joined Matt Latimore’s M Resources as chief development officer of underground.

Caruso spent 18 years with Metarock and Mastermyne.

Three leave advisory board

The Office of the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur and Advance Queensland this week said farewell to Professor Rowena Barrett,  Monica Bradley and Professor Bronwyn Harch as they concluded their tenure as members of our Queensland Government Innovation Advisory Council.

QTC’s new boss

The Queensland Theatre Company has appointed Criena Gehrke as its executive director, replacing Amanda Jolly.

A Queensland local, Criena worked with Circa Contemporary Circus to support the development of Circa Cairns, a First Nations-led regionally based company, and as executive director, Arts Access Victoria.

Gehrke described it as a homecoming for her.

Critical moves

Vanadium company Critical Minerals Group said managing director Scott Drelincourt had stood down from his role and will leave the company. His replacement will be Scott Winter.

The company said Winter had 30 years of experience in mining having worked for MIM, BHP and Thiess as well as Mach Energy, Mineral Resources and Jupiter Mines.

Coronado boosts Blitzer

Coal producer and owner of the Curragh mine in central Queensland, Coronado, has promoted its chief operating officer, Jeff Blitzer, wo currently heads the company’s US operations to a new role of Group COO.

Blitzer had 40 years of experience in operations management involving all aspects of coal mining.

New green manager

ModnPods has appointed Larissa Rose as its in-house environment and sustainability manager.

Rose is on the Gold Coast City Heart task force and is a director of Glow Green Australia. She is also a board member of Rotary International.

Larissa’s appointment will see her drive the company’s sustainability strategy and undertake further measures to reduce waste throughout the manufacturing process, reduce embodied carbon and ultimately deliver premium quality and sustainable pods.

Builders’ new NQ rep

Master Builders Queensland has welcomed Alana Hopkins as the regional manager for north Queensland. Helping local builders bolster their businesses and supporting and advocating for members is at the top of her agenda.

Hopkins was previously with the Townsville Chamber of Commerce and before that with the North Queensland Cowboys.

She takes over from Emma Peters, who has taken a role at Townsville City Council.
