Little beauty: Local firm eats up crowdfunding campaign target

A Brisbane-based company following in the path of Youfoodz has shown the power of female investors with almost 80 per cent of its crowdfunding campaign filled by women.

Lilly’s Little Lunchbox said it had beaten its minimum capital target in 24 hours.

The company home delivers meals for children and is expanding its service to the ACT and Victoria. It already serves south east Queensland and NSW.

The company said it was “blown away” by the response.

The company is also moving into facilities recently vacated by Youfoodz.

Founder and chief executive Cara Aprile said throughout the growth of the company, which has so far delivered more than 10,000 meals, it had embraced adaption and improvement.

“We’ve learned valuable lessons along the way and our commitment to efficiency has driven us to pivot the business multiple times,” she said.

“It’s these lessons and our relentless pursuit of growth that have brought us to this exciting moment.”
