Ernest Henry mine comes back on line after flooding
Evolution Mining has restarted its operations at the Ernest Henry copper-gold project near Mount Isa after millions of dollars in production was lost because of flooding.

The mine was one of a handful in the north west of the state that was hit by heavy rainfall and flooding and has vowed to make up for lost time.
But the company said it would take until the end of the June quarter to ramp up to normal production levels.
“The resumption of mining activities is within the previously announced six-week timeframe,” Evolution told investors this morning.
“As previously noted … the weather impact at Ernest Henry will result in lower gold and copper production of approximately 17,000 ounces and 10,000 tonnes, respectively in full year 2023,” Evolution said.
“Gold and copper production in the March quarter was reduced by 6400 ounces and 4100 tonnes, respectively.”
