Earlier this week the airline added a Brisbane to Melbourne service in a strategy to cash in on the golden triangle network between the east coast capitals.
The Sydney service will be three times a day during the week and twice a day on the weekends.
Queensland’s borders will open on December 17, at the latest.
The $69 special rate is only available until the end of the month. The current price on other airlines is between $160 and $180.
Rex deputy chairman John Sharp said the announcement demonstrated the airlines determination to grow the domestic network.
