The  sold-out Eras Tour has meant the major airlines have scheduled an extra 64 flights as Queenslanders from around the state fly fans for her concerts – the first kicking off in Melbourne on Friday night.

Brisbane missed out on the tour leaving fans to scramble in the race for tickets at interstate concerts.

Brisbane Airport spokesperson Peter Doherty said preparations are also being made for the influx of chartered private jets at the domestic terminal taking fans to the concerts in Sydney and Melbourne.

So far six private flights have been booked to travel to both interstate capitals.

He said passenger volumes rise five per cent around between February 15 to 19 for Ms Swift’s Melbourne concerts and February 22 and 27 for her Sydney events.

“Airlines have been quick to join the dance party adding a total of 64 additional flights for the event dates across the tour period, ensuring fans can ‘Shake It Off’ and catch the spectacle,’’ Mr Doherty said.

He said passenger increases on existing flights are estimated to be an extra 8500 people travelling to Sydney, 3,900 more on flights to Melbourne and 3,400 passengers from central and north Queensland transiting through Brisbane.

Mr Doherty said the concerts “mega-event” would impact travel patterns across the state and encouraged travellers to be prepared and factor in daylight saving.

“We encourage travellers to arrive in ‘style’ at the Domestic Terminal the regular 90 minutes before their departure time, which allows ample time for check-in and security screening so their journey can be ‘Fearless’ as possible.”
